Whilst it was a quiet weekend on the racing front, many Termoneeny Runners still managed to get out and attend parkruns and local races.
MUSA Cookstown Parkrun
Three members of the Hughes family secured top ten finishes at MUSA Parkrun on Saturday morning. An amazing feat for this very talented family. The first Hughes member across the line and second overall, was Tommy in a fantastic time of 17:22. Tommy shaved 35 seconds off his previous best parkrun time and secured a new personal best. Jarlath Hughes, hot on his uncle’s heels, ran a superb 17:40 and finished third. Damien Hughes was third Termoneeny home and finished in 8th position in an excellent time of 19:41.
Declan Leung and Sean Smith were up bright and early on Saturday morning to take part in Antrim Parkrun. Declan added another personal best, to this seasons growing collection, running a super time of 21:38. Sean Smith, who also is running very well this season, ran a fine time of 24:45.
10th annual Sperrin Harriers Winter League Series, Saturday 10th November
Sperrin Harrier’s first race of their Winter League Series, took place in the rural landscape of Davagh Forest and provided a great challenge for runners of all abilities. This was the 10th year of Sperrin Harrier’s Winter League. The league consists of 5 testing trail races at some of the most scenic natural beauty areas in N.Ireland. Whilst Davagh is breathtakingly beautiful at this time of the year, it proved to be a very wet and slippery terrain for all to run on. Thankfully all six TRC members crossed the line in this 10k race in one piece and churned out fantastic times too. Results: Michael Burke 46:32 ; Orla Hatt 47:18; Kevin Darragh 48:01; Anne O’Doherty 49:53; Damian O’Boyle 49:53 ; Christina McErlean 57:00.
Many thanks to Sperrin Harriers for their warm hospitality and excellent post-race buffet.
Congratulations to all the TRC members who represent our running club near and far. It is wonderful to see the TRC orange and white running top at so many events. If you are interested in joining TRC please visit termoneenyrc.com or send us a message on facebook.
