Termoneeny Continue to Stay the Course as Winter Bites!

Despite Storm Eric bringing some very adverse weather conditions towards the end of the week, TRC runners were out and about this weekend  across the province doing what they love most.

Parkrun

Antrim
Lindsay Gibson finished her 6th Parkrun on Saturday morning just shy of her PB in a time of 28:29 – well done Lindsay, keep up the great work!

Portrush
Damien O’Boyle finished Portrush Parkrun with some fierce head winds to contend with in a fantastic time of 26:40 – great running from Damien who finished 20th overall and was the 19th male in a field of 117 runners.

MUSA Cookstown
Kevin McErlean completed his 10th Parkrun on Saturday morning in a super time of 26:46 – well done Kevin!

Please remember if you aren’t planning on running, Parkruns can’t happen without volunteers. In particular Magherafelt Junior Parkrun are always on the lookout for help on a Sunday morning. It’s very rewarding and great fun!

Northern Velocity Roe Valley 5 Mile Trail Run

It was a frosty morning on Sunday when 7 TRC runners set off for the fourth race in the 18/19 Trail Run Series by Northern Velocity.  With plenty of sunshine on a crisp morning, conditions were near perfect for this scenic 5 mile out and back course along the River Roe in the Roe Valley Country Park. Anne O’Doherty was our first lady home and 5th overall with an impressive time of 38:24, followed closely by Kevin Duggan who was our first male runner home in an equally impressive time of 39:59.  Our thanks go to the guys from Northern Velocity for yet another well organised race with their usual high standard of post -race hospitality. Full results are as follows:  Anne O’Doherty :38:24 (1st TRC female and 5th Lady overall), Kevin Duggan : 39:59 (1st TRC Male), Norman Gibson : 46:02, Kevin McErlean : 46:28, Kieran Henry : 46:36, Kay McPeake : 52:56, Jacqueline McGonigle : 58:27.
