Termoneeny Runners continue their great form despite the chill!

Despite the winter weather kicking in, Termoneeny Runners have had yet another busy week running distances from 5K to 38 miles!

Jingle All the Way Charity Event, Ballymena

Well done to our friends Ballymena Runners who raised a whopping £1351.61 for the NI Children’s Hospice with their Jingle all the Way event at Lifestyle Fitness Ballymena. The event ran from 19th to 23rd November and Jacqueline McGonigle joined in on Friday 23rd November to run on the treadmill from 10am to 11am representing TRC where she was given a very warm welcome by Stephen and Allister from Ballymena Runners.

EAMS 6 Hour Challenge

Huge congratulations go to Fergal Hughes who took part in the popular EAMS 6 hr race on Friday 23rd. The race took place at V36 Park in Newtownabbey and consisted of 1.91 mile loops around the park. Fergal put in a superb performance and came home in FIRST place, running a total distance of 38 miles.  This was a fantastic achievement by Fergal – well done!

There were some great performances on Saturday morning from TRC Parkrunners from the North Coast to London!

MIchelle Comer  took part in her second Aldenham Parkrun while visiting her sister and ran a super time of 34:06.

There was yet another top performance from Thomas Doherty at our local MUSA Cookstown Parkrun who finished his 26th Parkrun in 18:35. Well done Thomas!

It was a cold but sunny morning for a beach run for both Declan Leung and Sean Smith who travelled to Portrush for the first time on Saturday.  Declan finished what was his 10th Parkrun in a super time of 21:45 and Sean continued his recent good form, completing his 20th Parkrun in only  23:32.

Four runners represented TRC in Antrim on Saturday.  Jarlath Hughes ran an excellent time of 17:42 coming 3rd overall in his first Antrim Parkrun.  Not far behind was Damien Hughes in 9th position with a time of 19:31. Michael Burke was 15th with a time of 19:58 followed closely by Eamon Melaugh in 19th place in a time of 20:42.

Congratulations to all our Parkrunners! Please note that Antrim Parkrun is closed on 1st, 8th and 15th December.

Northern Velocity Run Fit 5K Fun Run Limavady

The beautifully scenic Roe Valley Country Park was the location for the latest race in the Northern Velocity Trail Series.  Five TRC members took to the trails for this 5K flat and fast out and back course which was a bit tricky underfoot in places with a variety of running surfaces. However everyone put in top performances.  Thanks to Northern Velocity for such a well organised and fun event, and the very welcome post race hospitality! The next run in the series is the Muff Glen 4 miler on 27th December.  Results will be available on our facebook page as soon as they are available.

London Marathon Club Ballot

The Club’s London Marathon ballot took place at MUSA Parkrun in Cookstown on Saturday morning. Stephen Pickering asked Darrell McKee from Acorns AC who was first over the line to draw the winner. We are delighted to announce that Christian Fortes O’Neill will be representing Termoneeny Running Club at next year’s London Marathon. 1st reserve is Kay McPeake and 2nd reserve is Declan Leung. Congratulations Christian! We wish you every success with your training and at the main event.
