It was a quiet start to the racing calendar for December, nevertheless a few runners, managed to attend two different runs. Well done to everyone braving the elements, at this time of the year.
Clive Nesbitt Half Marathon Trail Run.
Huge congratulations go to Declan Leung for taking part in Run Armagh’s Clive Nesbit 55th birthday race. Clive is a well-known runner in marathon circles and Run Armagh hosted this event to celebrate his birthday.
Declan took on the half marathon distance in this trail run. The scenic route was an off road run through The Foley Glen in Armagh. This was a challenging run with lots of sharp short hills along the route. Declan completed this tough race in fantastic time of 2:28.
One of Clive’s famous sayings is, “there’s wiser eating grass”. Declan decided to wear cow attire whilst completing this race. “Udderly mooarvellous” Declan!
Seeley Cup 10k, Belfast
The annual Podium 4 Sport Seeley 10k, hosted by Willowfield Harriers attracted over 1000 runners on Saturday. This very popular race started in Ormeau Park Belfast on Saturday and attracted a huge crowd of many talented runners. Termoneeny RC had three members represent our club at this popular race.
First TRC member across the line was Jarlath Hughes in an amazing time of 34:52 and he achieved a new 10k personal best too. Tommy Hughes was first over 55, in a fantastic time of 35:24. Thomas Doherty also ran a brilliant time of 38:20.
