With the Autumn season well under way and the leaves beginning to turn orange, it is wonderful to see the orange and white TRC vests still being donned. Termoneeny Runners had a very busy weekend of racing. With 5ks, 10ks, 10 milers, half marathons and extremely tough 35k distances covered.
Anne Breen was our only Parkrunner this week at Antrim Castle Gardens. Anne finished in a fantastic time of 33:09. Very consistent running from Anne, well done!

Fergal 10 miler, Davagh Forest.
Following the huge success of last year’s race in memory of Fergal Mulgrew, Acorns AC hosted this race for the second year in a row. This event took place in the rural landscape of Davagh Forest and provided a great challenge for runners of all abilities.
Fergal was only 40, when he collapsed and died suddenly while out running in Davagh Forest, on Wednesday 12th October 2016. Money raised from this popular race was split between MITRE Trust charity and Acorns AC.
Davagh Forest is breath taking all year round but especially during Autumn. It was wonderful to see such a huge crowd of TRC members attending this well organised and worthwhile race. The 10-mile race was capped at 300 runners, with many TRC members managing to secure a place before all the spaces were gone. The first 5.5 miles were very challenging with undulating hills. At mile 6 the terrain began to flatten slightly, with the last few miles being a welcoming downhill. Congratulations to each and every one of you. Many thanks to Acorns AC for their post-race refreshments.
