Termoneeny Runners have continued to run in all weather conditions across the North last weekend with some PBs achieved along the way in distances from 5k to 26.2 miles!
Two hardy souls braved the wind and rain on Saturday morning to take part in our local Parkrun at MUSA in Cookstown. Both Declan Leung and Sean Smith produced great runs. Declan completed his 7th Parkrun in 21:59 with Sean finishing his 17th Parkrun in 28:14. Well done!
Anne Breen notched up her 21st Parkrun at Antrim Castle Gardens on Saturday with a super time of 33:39. Another consistent run from Anne!
Waterworks Belfast Parkrun
Thomas Doherty continued his excellent form on Saturday at the Waterworks Parkrun which is run inside the Waterworks Park at the junction of the Antrim and Cavehill Roads in North Belfast. Thomas completed the 5K in a very impressive time of 19:41 in what was his 24th Parkrun, coming in 10th place overall with almost 250 runners taking part. Congratulations Thomas.
Colin Glen Parkrun
Kirsty McGarvey also took part in another Belfast Parkrun in Colin Glen Forest Park. Kirsty ran an excellent time of 28:20 in this her 9th Parkrun – great running Kirsty!
McConnell Shield XC Race
The 84th annual McConnell Shield XC took place today in Sixmilewater Park in Ballyclare. This long standing fixture was hosted by East Antrim Harriers and saw two of Termoneeny Running Clubs most prolific and successful runners, Tommy Hughes and Jarlath Hughes, taking part, with strong performances by both runners at this challenging fixture.
Decathlon 10K Belfast
It was a busy Sunday for Termoneeny runners and thankfully the weather was on everyone’s side with near perfect running conditions! There were blue skies and only a light wind at the Decathlon Belfast 10K . It was an early start for 8 TRC members who took on the flat course which was a loop taking in the Holywood Exchange and the business park alongside Belfast City Airport. Well done to everyone who took part and congrats on even more PBs achieved today! EAMS Halloween Frightener : Marathon
Congratulations to Christian Fortes O’Neill who competed in the EAMS Halloween Frightener which also took place on Sunday. The route was 6 full laps from Loughshore Jordanstown to Gideon’s Green and back. Christian completed the course in a fantastic time of 3:55 (unoffcial). This was Christian’s 49th Marathon and 2nd sub 4 hr marathon in 2 weeks after completing Dublin in 3:46 last Sunday.
EAMS Halloween Frightener : Half Marathon
James McNally also travelled to Jordanstown on Sunday to take part in the EAMS Half Marathon in what was his 10th Half Marathon this year. James put in a sterling performance, coming home in a very comfortable 2:03 (unofficial). Well done James!
