Press Release w/e 21st April 2019

Racing season continued this week with Termoneeny Running Club members travelling far and wide to cover both marathon and 5k distances ,with some fantastic results.

Boston Marathon

After an injury and several weeks of very limited training, Gary O’Doherty travelled to Boston with his wife and TRC member Anne, to take on the challenge of the 2019 Boston Marathon on Monday 15th April, Patriots Day. The Boston marathon is renowned for being not only the world’s oldest, but also one of its most challenging races.  There was no doubt that Gary would give it his best,  despite his recent injury, and true to form Gary turned in a very consistent run, finishing in an impressive 3:08:43. Congratulations Gary, thanks you for representing Termoneeny Running Club in Boston so well!

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Solas Toome – “From Darkness to the Dawn” 5k Run / Walk first thing on Saturday morning.   Anne and Gary O’Doherty’s son Luke came a very impressive 3rd place,  with mum Anne picking up the trophy for 2nd lady. Well done everyone for getting up and out so early in the morning to support such an important cause. There were PBs for BOTH our runners at MUSA parkrun, Cookstown on Saturday morning! Congratulations Thomas Doherty and Shane Hurrell who finished in 18:16 and 19:00 respectively with Thomas coming in 7th and Shane 12th. Fantastic running guys!

Linsday Gibson put in yet another great performance at Antrim Parkrun on Saturday.  Lindsay finished in a super time of 28:05 – well done!
