Termoneeny Press Release w/e 24/2/19

MUSA Cookstown
It was great to see one of our PRO team, Claire Hassan,  back running again this week in her first Parkrun of the year at MUSA. Claire finished in a super time of 29:10 – well done Claire!

Lindsay Gibson finished her 8th Parkrun on Saturday morning, once again just shy of her PB in a time of 28:27 – well done Lindsay, fantastic running!

Declan Leung and Sean Smith made their way to Limavady Parkrun on Saturday, with Declan putting in an impressive time of 21:48 and Sean finishing in an equally impressive 24:43. Thanks  to Limavady Parkrun for their post-race hospitality and congratulations to them on their 100th event!

Two Termoneeny Runners took part in Ecos Parkrun Ballymena on Saturday. Anne O’Doherty was the 4th lady to finish in a fantastic time of 21:57 with Anne’s 11 year old son Luke joining in with mum and finishing  comfortably in 6th place in an incredible time of 19:38!

All credit to our Olympian runner Tommy Hughes who continued his winning streak on Saturday at Ecos. This was Tommy’s 12th Parkrun and his first time running the Ecos Parkrun. Tommy was first home in 17:03 achieving an age grade of 93.26%. Congratulations Tommy, you do the Club proud each and every time you compete for Termoneeny. We wish you every continued success this year to achieve all of your goals.

Please remember if you aren’t planning on running, Parkruns can’t happen without volunteers. In particular Magherafelt Junior Parkrun are always on the lookout for help on a Sunday morning. It’s very rewarding and great fun!

Declan’s Unofficial Half Marathon

On Sunday 24th February our club secretary, Declan Leung, organised an unofficial half marathon in and around Magherafelt with both Declan and Aaron Mawhinney taking part along with several other local runners joining in the fun! Well done to everyone who took part in what we hear was as somewhat challenging route with hills in parts. No better way to spend a Sunday morning!
